About the Artist
I'm Glenda Semler, a traditional fine artist based in Corpus Christi, Texas. My work is rooted in a deep love for the natural world and the quiet beauty of everyday life. I paint both en plein air and in the studio, often alternating between capturing coastal landscapes, still life and creating intimate, expressive portraits. While newly focusing on naturing journaling and studying native wildlife on Oso Bay. Combining my love of learning about the enviornment and art.
As a homeschooling mother and the wife of a Woodland Ecologist, much of my inspiration comes from the world right outside our door. Windswept dunes, changing skies and the rhythms of family life. Painting outdoors allows me to respond directly to natures light and movement, while studio time lets me focus on the subtleties of character and emotion while using artist license.
Whether I'm painting a person or a quiet corner of the natural world, my goal is create art that feels alive, grounded and deeply human.
